I was thinking as @Monika. Do I need anything special for climbing. Or can I go myself and climb it??
I have never climbed Fuji but it is on my bucket list. When is the best time to go?
@martiz rental equipment depends on how big is the rental set. My set included: hiking shoes, backpack(+backpack cover), rainwear, trekking poles and headlamp. It was definitely enough to get on the Mt. Fuji and I rented it for 13 000 yen.
I have never climbed Mt. Fuji, but I would really like to someday as well. Some people mentioned special equipment is needed but, what kind of, and how much does it cost ?
Also, many great places are in the area of Mt. Fuji Five Lakes. I have been there in rainy day, but if you're lucky, you can see many beautiful Mt Fuji views with lake in background.
One of the best and the closest view of the full Mt. Fuji is in Gotenba in Kanazawa Prefecture. Have you ever been there? It's unbelievable! Mt. Fuji seen from Gotenba seems to be close at hand!
The view from the top is indeed outstanding but on the other hand do you know any great places with the view of Mt. Fuji in all its glory?
I have never tried this activity. I want to try it once or.... but I must be physically fit. Mt. Fuji is very spectacular from any views. I was in Mitaka City last year and I was really surprised that even there from the 3rd floor of that building, you can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji. It gives me power and everytime, especially in the morning, it is one of my routine to look at that spot. Really amazing!!!
@wera if you don't want to bring your own equipment , you can rent on location aswell :)
Can you recommend any equipment renting place? I see many renting offers on the internet, but I don't know what to chose.
