Whiskey Yoichi distillery

I extended a trip distantly this time and visited Yoichi, Otaru of Hokkaido. In Hokkaido of September, I feel autumn, and morning and evening are seasons to feel cold a little. Yoichi that I visited first this time is a small town located in the base of Shakotan Peninsula of Hokkaido. Here is Nikka whiskey Yoichi distillery. This distillery was established as Dai Nippon Kaju Co., Ltd. in 1934 and prepared Nikka apple juice . The company gets a production license of whiskey, Brandy and releases the first of Nikka whiskey, Nikka Brandy afterwards in 1940. The company name was changed in "Nikka whiskey Co., Ltd.", too. The founder is Mr. Masataka Taketsuru. He becomes famous at a bound in consecutive telenovel "Massan" of the morning of NHK broadcasted for half a year from September, 2014, and therefore the visit of this Yoichi distillery of the bus tour become classic.
It is lined with the building group which 150,000 square meters of sites are dotted with when I enter at the stone beautiful front gate. Of course it is free. Ice, water, carbonated water is prepared, and a visitor can drink by a favorite method. Tea and the juice are prepared for the person whom the alcohol is hard for to deal with. It is a pleasant visit course derived in the place where I became slightly intoxicated to a souvenir shop.

Town of the canal, Otaru

Otaru City developed for a long time as an eminent harbor city in Hokkaido. There is it in the place of approximately 40km from Sapporo City and is distance of approximately one hour on an expressway. There is to the distance of approximately 30 minutes by a train from Hakodate Main Line Sapporo Station. In the city, popularity is high as a tourist city by being known as a town of the sushi with more than 100 restaurants. It is said that tourists more than 7 million come here from China or Korea not to mention the country every year.
The stores such as glassware sale and an art museum of the famous "Kitaichi Glass" connection, the local brew shop form a line in Otaru when I take a walk through the city. In a street, a sushi bar and sea foods bowl shop, the various shops including the ramen shop line up to a lot of restaurants. The Italian shops increase recently.
A street of around canal was crowded in particular, and, in around tourist information center of the canal, the tourist who took a souvenir picture made a line. Most of tourists were Chinese, and the tourist from Korea decreased sharply recently, and the master of the sushi bar said that it was a terrible blow.
