"Daijokyu-no-gi" （"Yukiden-Kyosen-no-gi" was performed from the evening of November 14 to the night, and "Sukiden-Kyosen-no-gi" was performed before dawn of 15th, the following day）is the Central ceremony of Daijosai, the ceremony after the enthronement, in which the Emperor offers newly-harvested rice to the Imperial Ancestor and to the deities of heaven and earth, and partakes of it himself, giving thanksand praying for peace and abundant harvests for the country and the people. As "Daijokyu Halls" which was a building built for "Daijokyu-no-gi" was available to the public during the period until from November 21 to December 8, I observed it.
As it is earlier next time for several years, or it is not revealed that I do not see "Daijokyu Halls" at this opportunity because it is broken after general visit, it is prosperous in the people of the visit very much day after day. I thought whether weekdays were vacant to some extent first of all and went out on Tuesday, December 3. Many people advanced to the same direction when I went down Tokyo Station. When I crossed the traffic light of the Hibiya Street, people had already made a line in the passage of Kokyogaien, and I lined up at the decided entrance. A great line went ahead through the long way to Daijokyu Halls prepared into the inner palace trace open space of Imperial Palace East Garden from here slowly via Sakashita-mon Gate. There was the baggage check on the way, and took approximately 1 hour to Sakashita-mon Gate. The flow smoothened when I entered in Sakashita-mon Gate, but was congested again on the way. I waited in a great line to advance slowly along the open space of the main enclosure trace patiently and approached the building in about one hour. Around the torii called the Minamisinnmon, a symmetric building is made, and the building consists of 24 kinds of buildings in total. While many observers take a photograph in a form to look at along the bamboo fence as I cannot enter the depths of the building, I advance by the instruction of the police officer, and an instant visit is finished. It was visit to remain for the memory.
I went out of the Imperial Palace, the Higashigyoen-kitahanebasimon gate and went ahead to Kitanomaru-koen Park. Kitanomaru Park is the place where there was a daimyo's mansion of Tayasu family and Shimizu family of Tokugawa Gosankyo (three privileged branches of Tokugawa family) in the Edo era. The headquarters and barracks of the Imperial Guard Division are places placed in from Meiji to the end of the war. There are a lawn open space, a pond, grove of miscellaneous trees in the park and pleases the eyes of visitors by beautiful gradation of red, the green of colored leaves, and the yellow of the ginkgo in the present season. In addition, there are The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Crafts Gallery where building in brick is beautiful, and The Nippon Budokan, and Science Museum in the park. I passed through the Tayasu gate of Kitanomaru Park and saw Otorii of Yasukuni shrine when I crossed the pedestrian bridge. Yasukuni shrine was built as "The Shokonsha" in 1869 and was renamed to "Yasukuni shrine" afterwards in 1879. This year is foundation 150 years. 2.466 million other people who included the war dead of Sino-Japanese, Russo-Japanese War and the first second World War are worshiped here. The row of trees of the ginkgo which changed color yellow on both sides of the gentle slope from the first torii continues, and there is the shrine gate which Imperial crest of the chrysanthemum of the Chrysanthemum flower of 1.5m in diameter was attached to at the door when I pass the second torii and continues with a front shrine, a main hall over there and is excellent shrine. In addition, there is the highlight such as display facilities displaying a wartime memento or document called "Yusyu-kan" in the precincts or Noh theater, the Shinchi garden. I went to Iidabashi Station of the way home when I left Yasukuni shrine. As there is "Tokyo Daijingu" which is famous for benefit of matchmaking founded as Youhai-den (the hall for worshipping from afar) of Ise Grand Shrine on the way, I think that what you drop in at is good.
