By a monorail to Enoshima

I visited Enoshima this time to look at the ice tulip which bloom at winter time. The bulb of the chilled and preserved tulip is misled into thinking that spring came when sent to the temperature environment of nature and bloom. It is an ice tulip and is famous in Enoshima.
I decided to take Shonan Monorail line from JR Ofuna Station to Enoshima. This monorail is a traffic line linking 8 stations from Ofuna to Shonan Enoshima Station in about 15 minutes, and the maximum speed is 75km/h, and go ahead through the foot of Kamakurayama and ups and downs of the residential area, and the tunnel curve like a roller coaster at all. By the chinning type monorail that the scenery on the way including Ofuna Kannon and Tanzawa heap of mountains, Oyama, Mount Fuji can enjoy in a vast panorama, it is only only two valuable vehicles in Japan. In Shonan Enoshima Station of the terminal, the fourth floor becomes the platform and there is an observation deck when I pass through the wicket and can survey Mount Fuji from Sagami Bay.
I crossed the road from the first floor of the station and, acrossed the track of the Enoden (the Enoshima Electric Railway) Enoshima Station side, went to Enoshima.

Tulip of Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden

It is about 15 minutes on foot to Enoshima and arrived in bronze Otorii of the Enoshima entrance through Bentembashi. Through Benzaiten nakamise dori lined with a souvenir shop and restaurants from here to Enoshima Shrine. "Enoshima Jinja shrine" is the Shinto shrine consisting of three of "Hetsumiya, Nakatsumiya, Okutsumiya", and one of Japan's three biggest Benzaiten "nude Benzaiten, Myon Benzaiten" is enshrined in the temple. In addition, it is known as a power spot of matchmaking, and there is "a tree of Musubi". I went and worshiped here and went to Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden with fine-view lighthouse "Sea Candle". As it is such a long stone stairway for 20 minutes when I walk, as for the person that it is hard to walk, what use "Enoshima eskar" of the outdoors escalator (pay) is good.
Mr. Samuel Cocking of the British venturer visited Japan in 1869 (Meiji 2) and married a Japanese woman later. He built a villa and the large garden in the Enoshima top part in 1885 (Meiji 18). It is Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden. A greenhouse trace (form to be built of brick, and to warm with steam with the coal) which was in the garden is released as remains of an ancient structure now. 20,000 ice tulips made a colorful flower bloom when I entered the garden. In addition, there is the prospects Lighthouse sea candle that are the symbol of the island in the garden and can enjoy Sagami Bay and Fujisawa, Kamakura, the scenery of the Chigasaki area from height of about 40m.
I left Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden and went to Iwaya, the Chigogafuchi deep water in the southern part of the island. I went and worshiped in "Okutsumiya" on the way and "Wadatsuminomiya" in the neighbor and, in around 15 minutes, arrived at "Chigogafuchi"where a wave hits the rocky place. An angler enjoyed fishing in the rocky place. I could go from here to Iwaya, but was restoring it in a typhoon of the last year now. It was a dead end here. I decided to go along there as the back track had a narrow way to turn left at just before Samuel Cocking Garden. This way is a life road of the islanders who can appear at the Enoshima Jinja shrine entrance through the west of Enoshima and is the dishonest measures that I can advance to easily as there are not stairs.

Ryukoji temple of the Nichiren saint connection

I leave Enoshima, and, across the Enoden Enoshima station square track, there is Ryukoji temple when I turn right and go some roadsides. They were in the latter half of the Kamakura era, and Japan encountered an internal disturbance and Mongolia invasion, starvation and various menaces including the spread of the epidemic. The Nichiren saint (1222-1282) who was anxious about them wrote "Rissho Ankoku Ron" (On Securing the Peace of the Land through the Propagation of True Buddhism) and made report in the Shogunate. However, the Shogunate took this as a slander to a policy, and they arrested Nichiren saint in 1272 and took him to behead to this ground, Tatsunokuchi that were an execution ground. It is nearly said that the punishment of the artifact of a severed head was called off even if the light thing such as the full moon flies from Enoshima and comes at the very instant that it is said that he becomes the artifact of a severed head. Ryukoji temple is a place with such a reason, and, in the precincts, Deva gate, bell tower temple, Five Storeyed Pagoda are a certain excellent temple other than the main hall of a Buddhist temple, too.
